Summit Healthcare Atrium Open House Show Low, AZ

What a great addition to our regional hospital-Summit Healthcare here in Show Low, AZ. This is a new remodel of an interior portion of our hospital. All lab work for patients is in this central location which has been expanded from what we had previously. All tests - respiratory/pulmonary, cardio, lab blood work/hemotology, chest X ray, stress tests will be conducted in this area consolidating the med techs. New equipment has been ordered and the work can be completed faster. The area is elegant, is decorated with subdued colors, and will have local photography art work from David Loomis, employee at Summit, and anchored by a fireplace -(note my friend, Kathy Sandoval posing alongside in the photo below). The former lab area will now be brought in to enlarge our ER. Kent McQuillan, CIO at Summit, informed me the "next coming soon addition" will be a hyperbaric wound care center in 2013. It's all pretty exciting for those of us living here full time in the beautiful White Mountains and the rest of our part time residents!

My boyfriend, Walt, and I decided to leave Torreon for my birthday last week and just drive to Flagstaff for the day. We were aware of the bad weather before we left and as we were driving west on I-40 saw the very dark, menacing clouds. Having lived in Nebraska for decades, I hardly had concern. We had a great lunch and toured Pine Canyon, a private golf community similar to Torreon. Then we headed home, all without incident or even bad winds. Wow, what destruction these tornadoes caused! Quite nostalic of the storms that barrel thru the Midwest!
